God's Lonely Man

from Summer Demo 2011 by Four Fingers

lyrics

God’s lonely man in a world without sleep
Surrounded by scum, surrounded by greed
People and places their names I bleed
Desperate for change not willing to leave
Living in this city has sealed my fate
Writing in this journal provides my only escape
Someone should flush this city down the drain
Open Heaven’s floodgates I welcome the rain

The days go on and on and they don’t end
A long continuous chain yet still I beg for change
Loneliness has followed me my whole life
I can never shake this lifelong strife

Living in my mind I make my own time
I know she’ll never call and I’ll be fine
The television’s broken in my room
This place I call home it is my tomb
I got some bad ideas in my head
I think they’re all left better unsaid
Someday a real rain will come and wash this scum
It’s time to show the world what I’ve become

The days go on and on and they don’t end
A long continuous chain yet still I beg for change
Loneliness has followed me my whole life
I can never shake this lifelong strife
